The government has increased the salary (minimum honorarium) of employees engaged in road construction work by a record 100 to 170 percent under the country’s borders. The Ladakh region employees received the highest salaries under special risk allowance in view of stress. Here the salary of the 10th pass most junior employee (MTS) is more than 34,000 thousand. While the salary of a general assistant holding a graduate degree is 47,000. The new wage system has come into effect from June 1. This will provide better job opportunities for educated technical-non-technical unemployed youth of Srinagar-Leh, Ladakh.
National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NAIDCL), an undertaking of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, last month has issued orders for special risk allowance for the first time to the non-technical personnel of outsourcing or direct contracting. It mentions that the risk allowance of contract workers in the border and hilly areas of China, Pakistan, Bangladesh has been increased by 100 to 170 percent.
According to the government company, the salary of outsourced non-technical staff data entry operator (12th pass) in Ladakh has been increased from 16770 to 41440. Whereas on appointment in Delhi, he will get a salary of Rs 28000. Similarly, the salary of the accountant in Ladakh has been increased from Rs 25700 to Rs 47360.
In Ladakh, the salary of technical staff B-Tech or Trainee Graduate Engineer who has completed civil engineering has been increased from 30000 to 60000 rupees. The salary of a graduate engineer has been increased from 45000 to 78000. The salary of the manager (four years experienced civil engineer) has been increased from Rs 50000 to Rs 1,12,800. The senior manager will get a salary of Rs 1,23,600 instead of 55000 thousand.
Insurance will also be provided to the
outsourced and directly hired technical and non-technical staff on contract, medical insurance of five lakh, and accident insurance of 10 lakh will be given by the agency. Facilities for TA, DA, ESI, PF, etc. will also be available to the contract workers.
