In Bihar, sky lightning broke into havoc. 97 lives were taken. More than 50 people also got scorched due to heavy downpour in about two dozen districts. Many of them are in critical condition. Most of the people lost their lives in Gopalganj district. Here 13 people died while 10 people were injured.
22 people have died in North Bihar. More than 20 people were burnt, who are undergoing treatment at various places. Eight people died in Madhubani, six in Motihari and four in Darbhanga. Two deaths occurred in Shivhar, Bettiah and Samastipur and one in Sitamarhi.
In Thane district of Kosi, Seemanchal and East Bihar, 24 people lost their lives while more than a dozen people were burnt. Seven people died in Bhagalpur. Nine in Purnia, five in Banka, three in Khagaria and Jamui died. Two people died in Supaul and one each in Saharsa, Madhepura, Kishanganj and Araria. At the same time, eight died in Nawada and Siwan and seven in Aurangabad. One student died in Makhdumpur in Jehanabad and Baniyapur in Saran. One person also died in Buxar.
CM directed to give 4-4 lakhs in Patna. The Chief Minister has expressed grief over the death of 83 people in the state on Thursday. He said that he is with the affected families in this hour of disaster. He has instructed the officials that the dependents of the deceased should visit their house today and give a check of Rs. 4 lakh as ex-gratia grant.
